Defining Year 2020 - A Snapshot
This year will be remembered as a year that was, a year no one anticipated or dreamt of.
Year started as any normal new year starts amid all the chaos with CAA. Our routine life was business as usual. We were just reliving the fun Andaman Trip - revisiting old memories, refreshed and recharged with the azure blue water offered by the Emerald Islands.
A fresh start with a fresh mind and a great memories.
Now on the hindsight we are glad we took that trip which carried us forward thru this lockedout year!
Year 2020 start was rather normal. Seemed like a bed of roses. Was a very positive start to the year..though as year passed positive had a different connotation altogether :)
January was to a jumping start. World had not heard of Wuhan as yet - Good so far!
Till now, the balcony garden and plants were hobby - glad we cultivated those as those were the window to the outside world for the rest of the year locked indoors. A welcome diversion of colors outside the four walls and the screen and letters.
February was fantastic though there was a here and there mention of an unknown disease somewhere in a place called Wuhan in China. Strangely the city is locked out - yet as it is locked out - nothing much to worry
As Feb progressed, Worldometer came into prominence and something seemed strange yet not worrying so far.
March started with PM starting to appear more prominently across the media. Something serious! Yet never imagined in wildest dream what was in pipeline.
Then came Janta Curfew exercise of clapping - some fun activity and equal enthusiasm and the energy of participation..
Come the mid March and Lockdown was the buzz word!
Initially it was fun, we can WFH and there were options of travel time save euphoria...
None imagined that the euphoric state of being home bound will last till end of the year!
Suddenly life shifted gear from 3rd gear to an unimagined non existent 9th gear! Everything translated to Online - literally everything from schooling to grocery to car ordering :)
Slowly began accepting the new norm as way of life and started to live life as it used to be back when we were kids. Packing lunch and going on normal picnics and drives and opting to stay at relatives place over hotels/resorts.
On such outings we were able to explore and see few unknown spots and scenes. We took the road less travelled - literally and metaphorically as well.
Of the very few outings offered during this year one such trip was a road trip to Denkannikota and Shoolagiri
We packed lunch in Casserole and took hot water in flask for Coffee/Tea using Tea/Coffee Premix.
Was a amazing drive thru kms of Rose nurseries and mountains and some green to cool the red hot nerves of 2020.
Looking forward for another road trip amid all the new chaos surrounding the Covid 2.0!
Pray for a peaceful and not only a better start to the new year but a better rest of the year too!
